fish nets and a wig just don't get "it" so believable...

It's amazing how computer photo editing can spice things up and down and into the limelight these days, but it's not the case for the boxing heartthrob Oscar dela Hoya. He's famous even without some paparazzi swooning over and giving a great deal on editing his pictures and absurdly posting it. It's on the news, TV, tabloids, internet, blogs and porn sites. The pictures where Dela Hoya was wearing a wig, fish nets all over, some nice pink colored undies under a black T-back in a living room, kitchen and even in a tub.

The pictures are now said to be fake in hopes of tarnishing Dela Hoya's reputation. The pictures have been taken down from the website by request of Oscar's representatives.

They claim it was a bad photoshop job.

It's fake! If you'll look at it in a way that you're sight will be able to deny the fact that he's really on that pics posing like a drag queen, but then you'll be betting that it's not actually him and it's fictitiously marked it's way to net just to satisfy the hunger of the press for controversies.

Cut it out! He's already famous. And gorgeous! Girls love him. Guys envied him. Even Manny Pacquiao adores his abilities.

The photos were simply just not so believable as it seems to be.

y tu mama tambien (and your mother too)

Erotic, controversial, and unforgettable. Witty, vibrant, and intelligent. Marvelous, merry and, yes, melancholy film. Childhood friends Tenoch (Diego Luna) and Julio (Gael Garcia Bernal), two oversexed high schoolers who, like all oversexed high schoolers would want to do, are only concern with sex, drugs, and more sex. Trapped in the tedium of home life during the summer break.Things look up when the duo spots Luisa (Maribel Verdu), a cousin of Tenoch by marriage. The teenagers hatch a plan to lure her out of the city with the promise of a road trip to a beach that doesn’t exist in order to — what else? — bed her. The acting was topnotch, the trio chews up the dialogue with ease, shifting effortlessly back and forth between emotional highs and lows. The highlight of the film is the crisp dialogue and the interaction between the three actors. Its treatment of sexuality is shown in a frank and open manner (the boys strut around naked, penis hanging between their legs, on more than one occasion), the film is a peppy, even funny, road trip. While an epilogue brings the mood way down, the rest of the film is relatively upbeat, and the sex is more awkward and silly than realistic. “Y Tu Mama Tambien” is one of the better Road Movies I’ve seen, the movie is mostly about being young and carefree, as seen through the eyes of Tenoch and Julio, with Luisa offering the adult perspective. Uses sharp humor and insight into human nature to examine class conflict, adolescent yearning, the roots of friendship and sexual identity. Energetic and boldly provocative... this is a must-see movie. I'm givin' it four stars and a half.

frappe... anyone???

  • Prepare 2/3 c. strong coffee.
  • While the coffee is still warm, add 1 tsp. sugar and stir until sugar is dissolved.
  • Add 1/3 c. milk and stir.
  • Place 1/2 c. ice in blender and add sweetened coffee.
  • Turn the blender on and off quickly a few times to break up the ice.
  • Add 2 tbsp. vanilla ice cream. Turn blender on to Medium and blend.
  • After the coffee and ice have blended, add another 1/2 c. ice.
  • Blend until smooth. If you want a thicker frappe, add a little more ice.
  • Pour into large glass. You can add creams or fruits on top, different flavors from caramel to strawberry cream or plain chocolate or jellies underneath the frappe if you want, then serve immediately.

be seen... quite fab

The huge and evergrowing Bench galaxy/family of stars just got bigger with the addition of two new discoveries selected at the Be Bench Grand Finals at the Araneta Coliseum.

Last Tuesday night, at the Big Dome, the star-studded model search was hosted by Bench endorsers Kris Aquino and Piolo Pascual.

Out of hundreds of hopefuls, 12 finalists were narrowed down to six in an eight-week reality TV show that aired over ABS-CBN.

The lucky six were Carlo Guevarra (18), Kristine Mei Nieto (19), John Uy (19), Michelle Alice Carbonell (20), Haroun Morales (22) and Regine Angeles (21).

While Carlo and Haroun obviously had the most fans — judging from all the banners seen at the Dome — my personal choice was John Uy, a commercial model who looks like a taller, Oriental version of John Prats. He has been called a “Sam Milby wannabe” and the fact that he mostly speaks English could’ve alienated him from the text-voting masses.

Among the girls, i favored Kristine who, for me had the prettiest face — which everyone seemed to agree with (at least in our household ). Whispers had it that Regine, on the other hand was already being eyed by ABS-CBN before the winners were announced.

Carlo Guevarra stood out because he apparently used to be extremely overweight. As they flashed “before and after” photos of Carlo on the big screen, we were amazed how this insecure boy who once weighed over 220 pounds came to look as he does now.

Not to be missed were the appearance of Bench eye candies in the forms of Zanjoe Marudo, Jon Avila (a.k.a. Jon Mullally) and Sam Milby who sang a duet with Piolo Pascual.

Zanjoe is in top form and has never looked this good. Jon is always eye candy, as far as I’m concerned. And Sam Milby still elicited the loudest screams from the audience.

First to be eliminated was Michelle Alice Carbonell, an airport representative from Baguio. As a consolation prize, Piolo Pascual gave her a big hug, and while this was going on I heard someone in the audience say, “OK na rin.”

We were pretty sure John Uy had it in the bag. In person and on the big screen he had the best face. I swear, given the right hair growth he could look like a member of F4.

Unfortunately he was the first to go among the guys.

John looked disappointed and started looking for his mom in the audience. It was cute and funny — and not an easy task considering the bright lights and the 22,000-capacity of Araneta Coliseum. His mom was finally located when she stood up and waved at him. John made a brief but touching speech, basically thanking his mom for having flown in to see the show. (Collective sigh from the girls.)

Following a Bench denim fashion show and song number by Christian Bautista, Carlo Guevarra and Regine Angeles were named winners of the Be Bench model search.

Among their prizes are: a management contract under the ABS-CBN Talent Center, a Bench endorsement contract, a 15-month supply of Bench clothing, cash, an STI educational scholarship worth P250,000, and a two-bedroom house and lot at St. Monique Valais care of Globe Asiatique Realty Holdings Corp.

too much iodine makes me flushed in a flash...

Shrimps...

i love fish and squid... but i love shrimps more. when i was a kid, i'll busied my mom to take of the shells for me then i'll eat it. she'll do the work and i was only there to eat all of it. bwahaha. i was just a little boy then.

until my adolescence period came and i was diagnosed by my dermatologist from The Medical City, Dr. Evelyn Gonzaga, that i have cholinergic urticaria.

rashes...too much cold, too much heat, ashes, dust, wind, too much work, too much stress, too much pressure, the sun, not eating on time...etc.

the hardest part...

crustaceans...

food anything that comes with a shell... red.

crabs, prawns, lobsters and

shrimps alike.

too bad.

but then when i was in college. upon watching a TV show early that morning.. i heard about the allergies which comes from those delicious friends of the sea...

that the only thing that would make the allergies stop is to be presented with the allergens, the same allergens and to be immune by it.

i've been eating... then taking antihistamines after that.

i've heard from the news yesterday at 100% Pinoy where they covered a festive thrown for shrimps ( hipon/pasayan ) at Surigao, that the thing that made the allergies, rashes and errythema is too much iodine coming from the crustaceans.

but now... i'm glad that i can eat shrimps whenever i want but still with precautions and med ready. but i can say that i'm better now than those times that i could only devoured 1 or 2. too bad isn't it.

today the flushing red alarm slightly diminishes off my tracks. there are some instances that rashes appears but nothing serious.

bein' Evan Baxter? crazy but inspiring...

Can you “Change the world”? According to God (Morgan Freeman) you can start by simply doing acts of random kindness. Evan Baxter (Steve Carell) needed to learn that lesson. He also needed and was heavily persuaded to build an ark for the coming flood. The what? In the 21st century? But in the Bible God said He would never do that again? Well . . .

Honestly, I heard so much negativity surrounding this project and its wasted hefty budget that I went in with low expectations. Heck, I even tried not to like it but I couldn’t. I laughed, sympathized, connected,
almost cried, cheered, and applauded at the end. It is a pleasantly charming and inspiring modern day version of one of the oldest stories in the Old Testament, with a twist of course. When I first heard about this movie I really thought the story line was going to be dull, thus ruining it. Director/Producer Tom Shadyac (Liar Liar, Bruce Almighty, The Nutty Professor) made sure that didn’t happen. There was beauty in the nature, beauty in the animals, beauty in the ark, beauty in the family, beauty in the comedy, and beauty in the faith. The story was true to its source too. From the ark and animals to the beard and robes to the ridicule and incredulity of the people, I was not disappointed. I think even the true Almighty One would be satisfied. By the way, an 80’ W x 60’ H x 275’ L ark replica was built in the production of this movie, which is unheard of in the age of computer graphics. Granted, many may argue that this Almighty is not better than when Bruce was tapped, but it is still good. It’s goode!

Jim Carrey is a tough act to follow, so you have to give Steve some credit for stepping up to the plate and delivering. Sure, he might not be Barry Bonds just yet, but he has a pretty good batting average. Morgan Freeman as God once again, are you kidding? He is the best human being to play that all important role since George Burns in the Oh God movies. John Goodman as a congressman is quite intimidating. I’m biased when it comes to Wanda Sykes. Although her character was mostly pointless, and usually her characters are, it doesn’t matter. Her delivery of one-liners is just classic.

An impressive fact about this movie is that it was a “green” production. Given its environmental theme, it would be contradictory for the production to not follow suit. In order to balance out the calculated carbon emissions during production, 2050 trees were planted. In addition, every piece of material used in the production that could be salvaged was recycled and donated.

So, can you “Change the world”? Most definitely. You can either “Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.” —Genesis 6:14, or start with some acts of random kindness. If you need some inspiration, go see Evan Almighty.
