hot unwinding sites the Philippines can offer...
The name Caramoan has been officially adapted since 1619, the year it was founded by a zealous missionary, the venerable Spanish friar Francisco De La Cruz Y Oropesa. This 60-year old priest penetrated the thick virgin forest of the Caramoan Peninsula and found a small settlement in a place called Baluarte. Later on, this settlement was turned over to the administration of the Holy Bishopric in 1696. The small town of Caramoan was then located at the tip of Caramoan Peninsula, a rugged place of land extending into the waters of the Maqueda Channel on the North and East and Lagonoy Gulf on the South. It was determined that the first name given to this place was Guta de Leche by the Dutch traders who operated a gold mine in Lahuy Island and frequented the area to trade with the natives, prior to the arrival of the Spaniards. The name was perhaps derived from the milkdrop stalagmites found among the rocks of Guta Port. But upon the arrival of the Spaniards, the place came to be called "Carahan" for the sea turtle, which was at that time to be found in great number along the shores of the Peninsula. Caramoan is one of the thirty-five municipalities of the Province of Camarines Sur and is situated at the heart of the Caramoan Peninsula at the southernmost tip of Luzon. It occupies the lower eastern portion of the Province of Camarines Sur. It is bounded on the north by the town of Garchitorena and the Pacific Ocean; on the northeast by the island province of Catanduanes; on the south by Lagonoy Gulf; on the east by the Maqueda Channel and on the west by the municipality of Presentacion. The municipality is situated between east longitude 124o59" and 13o46" north latitude. It covers approximately 27,741 square kilometers with approximately 71 kilometers of irregular coastline surrounded by the vast ocean, bay, seas and swamps. It is approximately 501 kilometer

The Harry Potter author breaks big news in New York...
J. K. Rowling, author of the worldwide best-selling Harry Potter series, met some of her American fans Friday night and provided some surprising revelations about the fictional characters who a generation of children have come to regard as close friends.
In front of a full house of hardcore Potter fans at Carnegie Hall in New York, Rowling, sitting on the stage on a red velvet and carved wood throne, read from her seventh and final book, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," then took questions. One fan asked whether Albus Dumbledore, the head of the famed Hogwarts School of Wizardry and Witchcraft, had ever loved anyone. Rowling smiled. "Dumbledore is gay, actually," replied Rowling as the audience erupted in surprise. She added that, in her mind, Dumbledore had an unrequited love affair with Gellert Grindelwald, Voldemort's predecessor who appears in the seventh book. After several minutes of prolonged shouting and clapping from astonished fans, Rowling added. "I would have told you earlier if I knew it would make you so happy."
In answer to the question "Did Hagrid marry?" Rowling replied that sadly, no. The half-giant had a flirtation with a giantess but she found him "a tad unsophisticated" and the relationship never went forward. In response to the audience's groans of dismay, Rowling said, jokingly, "OK, I'll write another book." And when the audience continued to express disapproval added, "at least I didn't kill him."
Other minor characters, according to Rowling, came to happier ends. Neville Longbottom, Harry's meek and hapless classmate, married Hannah Abbott, another classmate.

The Heartthrobs: another malicious speculations
Talent manager and TV host Lolit Solis was treated to one of the most surprising visual spectacles of her life when she was invited by businessman Erning Lim to visit an exhibit at the Sofitel (formerly called the Westin Philippine Plaza). No, it wasn't the exhibit that caught her attention, but it was what she found out that utterly surprised her.
According to Manay Lolit's article in the Philippine Star Ngayon, it all began when she got lost inside Sofitel, trying to find the location of the exhibit. Owing to misdirection and probably the unavailability of a venue map, she found herself entering Sofitel's poolside coffee shop at around four in the afternoon. Realizing that she was at the wrong place, she started looking for another entrance or exit, walking and looking left and right.

Two men caught Manay Lolit's attention as she sauntered over. She noticed that the two men looked sweet to each other, exchanging whispers as their cheeks nearly touched. As Manay Lolit approached, waiters who saw her called out her name, apparently wanting to get an autograph.
The two men, upon hearing Manay Lolit's name, hastily left as Manay Lolit nearly tripped trying to get a closer look. Her curiosity rewarded her as she found who the two men were:

It was Sam Milby and Piolo Pascual.
Someone told Manay Lolit that Sam and Piolo frequented the Sofitel poolside coffee shop since the place doesn't usually get that many visitors. According to Manay Lolit, she wouldn't have noticed the two if it weren't for their hasty and noticeable exit. She wouldn't even put malice on what she just saw if Sam and Piolo didn't mind being found out or if they would just say their "hellos" to Manay Lolit even if they didn't know her that well.
All that she could do on her way home was ponder on the things that she had witnessed.

another smooch galore! who's with her this time?

Here are the controversial kissing pics of John Estrada and Gretchen Barretto that is now circulating over the internet.
These pictures were taken using John’s camera phone during the birthday party of Rufa Mae Quinto last May 27, 2007.
Gretchen’s manager, Boy Abunda, spoke in her behalf last Sunday on The Buzz talk show to confirm that the photos are real and it was taken with Gretchen’s consent but there is no affair that is going on between the two.
Then if the John-Gretchen "no relationship- thing" was over, it's time for another kissing pic who's who, don't you think? Now check out the photos below... who's the guy this time, huh?

Teri Hatcher's offending line...
The mob is at it again. Filipinos have recently forwarded emails, posted blog entries, and signed online petitions decrying the supposedly "racist" remark that Teri Hatcher's character in the US TV show Desperate Housewives uttered in last week's season premiere.
The "offending" line:
Okay, before we go any further, can I check those diplomas because I just wanna make sure that they're not from some med school in the Philippines.
An online petition calling for the show's producers and writers to apologize for the episode's "discriminatory and hurtful" remark has already began. But do all these petitioners really know what the issue is about? Or is it merely a case of not being left behind by the mob?
They said it was offensive to Filipinos, I'm Filipino, therefore, I should be in.
At worst, the remark was a jab at some schools, not just the medical schools, and diploma mills in the country that continue to produce graduates who are not skilled enough for work. Watch the video again. Susan Mayer (Teri Hatcher's character)'s line was neither a racist comment against Filipino doctors nor against Filipinos in general
.
As long as we have a place called Recto where fake diplomas can easily be bought and licensure exam fiascos that undermine the credibility of our professionals, the state of Philippine education will continue to be the butt of jokes.
Hell, even we ourselves do it. Don't we laugh so hard whenever the latest batch of school-bashing jokes are out?

How is this different? Because it was delivered by a foreign country? In that case, Indians should complain (hell, yeah, they should file a government protest!) that we continue to call them "Bumbays" (from "Bombay," the city), and we knowingly use the term derogatorily, not even as a joke.
Had the line been mentioned matter-of-factly in a news or documentary program, our protest would have been valid. But lest we forget, Desperate Housewives is a dramedy — a drama AND a comedy. Everything said there should not be taken seriously. For one, Susan Mayer was definitely in character — insensitive, arrogant, and stupid — when she delivered the line.
Locally, GMA7's Bubble Gang has, for almost a decade now, continued to poke fun at Diego for being "ugly and gay" and at Mykah for being "baluga or dark-colored."
Where's the rage? Is it because those are now accepted as "legitimate" jokes? They sure don't sound funny to gays, the dark-colored, or the ugly, but why are people not complaining?
It's time we quit having double standards. It's also time we improve the quality of education in our schools.
It was expected for ABC to issued an apology for the said remark since ABC surely does not want to alienate a group of people they now see as a powerful bloc. In the end, however, all this hullabaloo only created more buzz and publicity for the show. Desperate Housewives still wins.

fish nets and a wig just don't get "it" so believable...

It's amazing how computer photo editing can spice things up and down and into the limelight these days, but it's not the case for the boxing heartthrob Oscar dela Hoya. He's famous even without some paparazzi swooning over and giving a great deal on editing his pictures and absurdly posting it. It's on the news, TV, tabloids, internet, blogs and porn sites. The pictures where Dela Hoya was wearing a wig, fish nets all over, some nice pink colored undies under a black T-back in a living room, kitchen and even in a tub.
The pictures are now said to be fake in hopes of tarnishing Dela Hoya's reputation. The pictures have been taken down from the website by request of Oscar's representatives.

They claim it was a bad photoshop job.
It's fake! If you'll look at it in a way that you're sight will be able to deny the fact that he's really on that pics posing like a drag queen, but then you'll be betting that it's not actually him and it's fictitiously marked it's way to net just to satisfy the hunger of the press for controversies.
Cut it out! He's already famous. And gorgeous! Girls love him. Guys envied him. Even Manny Pacquiao adores his abilities.
The photos were simply just not so believable as it seems to be.

y tu mama tambien (and your mother too)
Erotic, controversial, and unforgettable. Witty, vibrant,
and intelligent. Marvelous, merry and, yes, melancholy film. Childhood friends Tenoch (Diego Luna) and Julio (Gael Garcia Bernal), two oversexed high schoolers who, like all oversexed high schoolers would want to do, are only concern with sex, drugs, and more sex. Trapped in the tedium of home life during the summer break.Things look up when the duo spots Luisa (Maribel Verdu), a cousin of Tenoch by marriage. The teenagers hatch a plan to lure her out of the city with the promise of a road trip to a beach that doesn’t exist in order to — what else? — bed her. The acting was topnotch, the trio chews up the dialogue with ease, shifting effortlessly back and forth between emotional highs and lows. The highlight of the film is the crisp dialogue and the interaction between the three actors. Its treatment of sexuality is shown in a frank and open manner (the boys strut around naked, penis hanging between their legs, on more than one occas
ion), the film is a peppy, even funny, road trip. While an epilogue brings the mood way down, the rest of the film is relatively upbeat, and the sex is more awkward and silly than realistic. “Y Tu Mama Tambien” is one of the better Road Movies I’ve seen, the movie is mostly about being young and carefree, as seen through the eyes of Tenoch and Julio, with Luisa offering the adult perspective. Uses sharp humor and insight into human nature to examine class conflict, adolescent yearning, the roots of friendship and sexual identity. Energetic and boldly provocative... this is a must-see movie. I'm givin' it

be seen... quite fab

The huge and evergrowing Bench galaxy/family of stars just got bigger with the addition of two new discoveries selected at the Be Bench Grand Finals at the Araneta Coliseum.
Last Tuesday night, at the Big Dome, the star-studded model search was hosted by Bench endorsers Kris Aquino and Piolo Pascual.
Out of hundreds of hopefuls, 12 finalists were narrowed down to six in an eight-week reality TV show that aired over ABS-CBN.
The lucky six were Carlo Guevarra (18), Kristine Mei Nieto (19), John Uy (19), Michelle Alice Carbonell (20), Haroun Morales (22) and Regine Angeles (21).
While Carlo and Haroun obviously had the most fans — judging from all the banners seen at the Dome — my personal choice was John Uy, a commercial model who looks like a taller, Oriental version of John Prats. He has been called a “Sam Milby wannabe” and the fact that he mostly speaks English could’ve alienated him from the text-voting masses.
Among the girls, i favored Kristine who, for me had the prettiest face — which everyone seemed to agree with (at least in our household ). Whispers had it that Regine, on the other hand was already being eyed by ABS-CBN before the winners were announced.
Carlo Guevarra stood out because he apparently used to be extremely overweight. As they flashed “before and after” photos of Carlo on the big screen, we were amazed how this insecure boy who once weighed over 220 pounds came to look as he does now.
Not to be missed were the appearance of Bench eye candies in the forms of Zanjoe Marudo, Jon Avila (a.k.a. Jon Mullally) and Sam Milby who sang a duet with Piolo Pascual.
Zanjoe is in top form and has never looked this good. Jon is always eye candy, as far as I’m concerned. And Sam Milby still elicited the loudest screams from the audience.
First to be eliminated was Michelle Alice Carbonell, an airport representative from Baguio. As a consolation prize, Piolo Pascual gave her a big hug, and while this was going on I heard someone in the audience say, “OK na rin.”
We were pretty sure John Uy had it in the bag. In person and on the big screen he had the best face. I swear, given the right hair growth he could look like a member of F4.
Unfortunately he was the first to go among the guys.
John looked disappointed and started looking for his mom in the audience. It was cute and funny — and not an easy task considering the bright lights and the 22,000-capacity of Araneta Coliseum. His mom was finally located when she stood up and waved at him. John made a brief but touching speech, basically thanking his mom for having flown in to see the show. (Collective sigh from the girls.)
Following a Bench denim fashion show and song number by Christian Bautista, Carlo Guevarra and Regine Angeles were named winners of the Be Bench model search.

too much iodine makes me flushed in a flash...

Shrimps...
i love fish and squid... but i love shrimps more. when i was a kid, i'll busied my mom to take of the shells for me then i'll eat it. she'll do the work and i was only there to eat all of it. bwahaha. i was just a little boy then.
until my adolescence period came and i was diagnosed by my dermatologist from The Medical City, Dr. Evelyn Gonzaga, that i have cholinergic urticaria.
rashes...too much cold, too much heat, ashes, dust, wind, too much work, too much stress, too much pressure, the sun, not eating on time...etc.
the hardest part...
food anything that comes with a shell... red.
crabs, prawns, lobsters and
shrimps alike.
too bad.
but then when i was in college. upon watching a TV show early that morning.. i heard about the allergies which comes from those delicious friends of the sea...
that the only thing that would make the allergies stop is to be presented with the allergens, the same allergens and to be immune by it.
i've been eating... then taking antihistamines after that.
i've heard from the news yesterday at 100% Pinoy where they covered a festive thrown for shrimps ( hipon/pasayan ) at Surigao, that the thing that made the allergies, rashes and errythema is too much iodine coming from the crustaceans.
but now... i'm glad that i can eat shrimps whenever i want but still with precautions and med ready. but i can say that i'm better now than those times that i could only devoured 1 or 2. too bad isn't it.
today the flushing red alarm slightly diminishes off my tracks. there are some instances that rashes appears but nothing serious.

bein' Evan Baxter? crazy but inspiring...

Can you “Change the world”? According to God (Morgan Freeman) you can start by simply doing acts of random kindness. Evan Baxter (Steve Carell) needed to learn that lesson. He also needed and was heavily persuaded to build an ark for the coming flood. The what? In the 21st century? But in the Bible God said He would never do that again? Well . . .
Honestly, I heard so much negativity surrounding this project and its wasted hefty budget that I went in with low expectations. Heck, I even tried not to like it but I couldn’t. I laughed, sympathized, connected, almost cried, cheered, and applauded at the end. It is a pleasantly charming and inspiring modern day version of one of the oldest stories in the Old Testament, with a twist of course. When I first heard about this movie I really thought the story line was going to be dull, thus ruining it. Director/Producer Tom Shadyac (Liar Liar, Bruce Almighty, The Nutty Professor) made sure that didn’t happen. There was beauty in the nature, beauty in the animals, beauty in the ark, beauty in the family, beauty in the comedy, and beauty in the faith. The story was true to its source too. From the ark and animals to the beard and robes to the ridicule and incredulity of the people, I was not disappointed. I think even the true Almighty One would be satisfied. By the way, an 80’ W x 60’ H x 275’ L ark replica was built in the production of this movie, which is unheard of in the age of computer graphics. Granted, many may argue that this Almighty is not better than when Bruce was tapped, but it is still good. It’s goode!
Jim Carrey is a tough act to follow, so you have to give Steve some credit for stepping up to the plate and delivering. Sure, he might not be Barry Bonds just yet, but he has a pretty good batting average. Morgan Freeman as God once again, are you kidding? He is the best human being to play that all important role since George Burns in the Oh God movies. John Goodman as a congressman is quite intimidating. I’m biased when it comes to Wanda Sykes. Although her character was mostly pointless, and usually her characters are, it doesn’t matter. Her delivery of one-liners is just classic.
An impressive fact about this movie is that it was a “green” production. Given its environmental theme, it would be contradictory for the production to not follow suit. In order to balance out the calculated carbon emissions during production, 2050 trees were planted. In addition, every piece of material used in the production that could be salvaged was recycled and donated.
So, can you “Change the world”? Most definitely. You can either “Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.” —Genesis 6:14, or start with some acts of random kindness. If you need some inspiration, go see Evan Almighty.

supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
what this word really means?
the fact that we have heard it in the flicks The Sound of Music and Mary Poppins, both starred Julie Andrews causing us deliberations on what the word explains.
and here's the answer... as what i've read in Crazy English, a book written by Richard Lederer.
super- "above," cali- "beauty," fragillistic- "delicate," expeali- "to atone," and docious- "educable," with the sum of these parts signifying roughly "Atoning for educatability through delicate beauty."
you can say that a person is supercalifragilisticexpialidocious if he or she's both superlatively beautiful and also supremely intelligent and capable of great achievements on his/her chosen league.

Conversation Starters
You’ll probably run into many people throughout the course of your dating preparations that could be The One, but you’ll never know for sure unless you talk to them. Starting a conversation with a stranger can be daunting, but it doesn’t have to be impossible.
Every conversation runs its course within a similar outline: making first contact, introductions, speaking with each other, and then ending the conversation - hopefully with plans to meet again. To navigate these sometimes scary but usually rewarding waters, read on for some tips and tricks regarding conversation starters.

Ice Breakers as Conversation Starters
The purpose of breaking the ice with someone new isn’t to show off your amazing conversational skills. Instead, think of your initial contact as a way to show a potential date that you’d like to talk to them.
The purpose of breaking the ice with someone new isn’t to show off your amazing conversational skills. Instead, think of your initial contact as a way to show a potential date that you’d like to talk to them.
Some conversation starter ideas to get the words flowing:
Comment on an item that you both share in your immediate surroundings, such as the long lineup you’re both waiting in or the wobbly chair next to you. By focusing an item you can both experience, you’re removing any potential awkwardness with a canned comment.
Sometimes a look is all that’s needed to break the ice. When faced with a person you find attractive, why not give them a genuine, 3 second smile? You may be surprised when the object of your happiness starts a conversation with you, instead.
If there is something the person is or has that truly intrigues you, simply use that as a conversation starter. This could be as simple as admiring a piece of clothing or asking them about the item they ordered.
A genuine hello coupled with a smile can be equally as effective. A quick, “How are you today?” works too for a straightforward follow up.

Start a Conversation With These Handy Things To Talk About
You’ve made first contact – now what? Conversation starters that seem witty or interesting can be a challenge in the spur-of-the-moment. That’s why spending a little bit of time at home pondering the ‘now what’ will pay, later. You don’t need to invest hours into these conversation starters though. Some quick ideas that can work in a pinch:
Current event topics of interest to you;
The last movie you watched;
A comment about the event you’re attending, with a follow-up question asking how they heard about it.
The point of this exercise is to create a backup of topics that you can draw upon on a moment’s notice to start a conversation that would also be of interest to someone else. Having said that, remember that this is still your first conversation, so there are a couple of conversation starters to avoid for now, such as:
How much you dislike your job, wardrobe, friends or any other negative associations;
Heated topics that may lead to a political or religious debate;
Sex or any sort of sexual connotations;
Any mention of your ex whatsoever.

Keeping the Conversation Moving
Once the back-and-forth exchange has begun, it is your responsibility to keep the flow moving – which entails listening, responding and moving seamlessly between topics to create a connection. Although this may sound challenging, it’s a simple process best described using an example.
Say the object of your affections intimated that they came to this particular coffee shop because a friend told them there was free WiFi access and they were excited to try the service out. A great segue to keep this conversation moving forward would be to ask where else they’ve found a good WiFi connection in town, if anywhere. For those not familiar with WiFi, you could ask what WiFi is and how it works.
In a nutshell, listen to what the person responds with, and then think to yourself, “What do I know about those particular subjects?” Using the example again, you could easily discuss a myriad of things, such as where electrical plug-ins are located, the best place to sit while working on a laptop, or further inquiries about what kind of work they perform on their laptop.
Focus on taking your own experiences and weaving them in with the other person’s responses.

By doing so, you’ll be forging a connection with the person, creating hooks of information with which to start a conversation at a later date. To ensure that you are actually conversing, and not just bantering back and forth in a quick succession of questions and answers, try to remember these key points:
Keep whatever stories or experiences you are sharing to less than a two minute retelling. Shorter is better in this instance. You can always expand more if the person asks.
Turn the conversation back to the other person where you can, such as, “What do you think?” or, “How about you?”;
Try to your conversation partner do half of the talking, with a natural blend of questions and answers. Twenty questions isn’t the goal right now;
Don’t focus on one topic for too long, and if your talk gravitates to another subject - let it. This should be light and fun, not intense.

Ending a Conversation Gracefully
Every fantastic conversation must eventually finish, so let the conversation you started go gracefully and with style. Don’t provide too much information or go on for half an hour about your common interests. You may feel obligated to continue forward, but why not leave on a great note with your companion wanting more?
Thank the other person for their time and let them know you’ve got something else to do, but you’d like to continue the conversation another time when it’s convenient for the both of you. Using the WiFi situation as an example, you could say, “I’m going to be late for a meeting, but I’d really like to check out the restaurant you mentioned. Perhaps we could continue this conversation there together later on in the week? What do you think?”
After you’ve exchanged contact information, smile and go off to do whatever it is that you’ve moved on to. Make sure to look back just as you are leaving to smile again, acknowledging your newfound acquaintance and allowing them to feel just as special as you do for having met someone new.

"Stars on the Grass"
In a field of green grass
i lay my head
thinking of the night sky.
My mind drifted to the thought
of your lips touching mine
and your hands clutching
my own warm hands.
I began caressing
your lovely face
circling my finger on your forehead
down to your nose,
lightly pinched your chin.
I raised my eyes to look
at the heavens above.
The stars faded as the
small drops of water run through
my face.
Then it hit me.
The realization that i have
fallen asleep and
i was only dreaming.
It wasn't the rain that
slides down my cheek.
It's my tears falling.
Where are you?
Why did you left all of
the sudden?
My heart is breaking,
my mind is rocking hard.
I lay in a field of
grass and none of the
stars were on sight.
I've lost you and
now tears are falling,
it should have been
a falling star so i can
wish for you to
come back.
In a field of green grass
i lay my head.
Thinking i'm never alone,
But where are you?
